National Native Art Workshop conducted at Fort Kochi

The workshop held at Brunton Boatyard hotel, Fort Kochi, from 4 April to 12 April 2014 brought   together the diversified art heritage of India under one roof. Organised by Lalit Kala Akademi, National Academy of Arts, New Delhi, artists from various parts of the country created art during the workshop which include some contemporary paintings too.  The paintings were then displayed at David hall Art Gallery Fort Kochi, on 11 & 12 April. It was a rare chance for art lovers and other artists to meet these Artists from different schools of native and tribal art.

The artists attended the workshop were Mr. Rajendra Shyam,  Mr. Mayanka Shyam, Mrs. Shakuntala Kushram, Mrs. Kamli  Kushram and Mrs. Gitanjali Urweti, all from Bhopal (Gond Art from Madhya Pradesh), Mrs. Meenakshi from Karnataka (Contemporary with fusion of folk elements from Lambani community), Ms. Shama Sondhi from Kashmir (contemporary), Mr. Radhanand Yadav from Jharkand (contemporary), Ms. Poonam Rana from Maharashtra (contemporary), Ms. Madhu Sharma (contemporary), Ms. Bipasha Senguptha from Ambala (contemporary), Mr. Gurupada from West Bengal (Bengali Patachitra style), Mr. Sharvan Paswan from Bihar (Madhubani style), Smt Urmila Devi Paswan from Bihar (Godhna tattooing style) and Vincent Philip and R Venu from Kerala (contemporary).

    1. Hello.. In this workshop only two artists from Kerala participated and both of them from contemporary field. pl specify your interest.
