Saras Mela 2014 was inaugurated on 27 August 2014 at Thenkinkad Maidanam (Vadakkumnathan temple ground), Thrissur, Kerala. Exhibition and sale of various handmade items, organic vegetables and other products from villages of India are arranged here. The mela has enormous collection of authentic and quality products from villages by various empowerment units like IRDP, SGSY, Kudumbasree etc.
More than 200 stalls from different states of India are set at the mela. Handicrafts, handloom, organic vegetables, food items, furniture, decorative etc. are arranged here. The event organised by Central ministry of rural development in association with Kerala state rural development will continue till 06th of September.
