Many traditional designs of garlands, ear hangings and bangles, the fashion tag of the bye gone era are on display at Hill Fort Hotel, Malappuram in Kerala. The show is organised by DTPC (District Tourism Promotion Council), Malappuram in association with Varsha Gold Filled Jewellery, Thrippunithura, Ernakulam dt. According to V Ummmerkoya, Secretary, DTPC, this show is a promotional programme for introducing it among the tourism stake holders who wish to start the Souvenir shop for tourists. DTPC also honour the veteran gold smiths of Malappuram in on this occasion.

Alex Peter, the proprietor of Varsha and his wife Gayathri , who is the CEO and Designer, are attending the show for demonstrating the variety heritage designs for the visitors. The ornaments are made of copper, formed with one gram pure gold. According to Mr Alex, these are made by the traditional gold smiths of Thrippunithura and hi-tech machines are used for the gold coating to ensure the quality.

Gayathri quoted names of some of the traditional designs as Nagapadam, Alukku Mala, Sarappolimala, Kasavu Mala, Mukkolakku, etc. and said that there is an increasing number of demands who are looking for traditional and aristocratic designs with most economic prices. Started today, the show will continue till 14 April 2015.
