Curtains Down for ITFoK 2016

ITFoK 2016, the 8th edition on International Theatre Festival of Kerala concluded on Sunday, 16th January 2016. The 7-day festival organised by Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy began on 10th of January.

About 20 plays from different countries like Japan, Iran,Lebanon, Singapore, Malaysia etc.were showcased during these days. This year the theme of the festival was 'Body Political'.



The festival opened with 'Sharira', a contemperory dance by The Chandralekha Group from Chennai. Sharira was about the profound and invisible female energies that can activate our outer and inner selves. On the following days the plays Baling (Malaysia), Khasakhinte Itihasam (Kerala), Silk Thread (Lebanon), Magic Tree (Turkey), Waiting (Iraq-Belgium) etc. were performed. The week long theatre fest concluded with Mallika Taneja’s award winning play 'Thoda Dhyaan Se'.
