Rajeev Pulavar, son of Ramachandra Pulavar, the master puppeteer, will present tholppavakoothu, the shadow puppetry from Kerala at the International Puppetry Festival conducting at China in March-April 2016. He is one among the selected artists from India participating in the puppetry festival. Besides performances there will be lectures and workshops on tholppavakoothu. The festival is organized in connection with the observance of World Puppetry Day.
Rajeev is an upcoming artist from Krishnankutty Pulavar Momorial Tholppavakoothu Kalakendram at Koonathara, Shoranur in Palakkad dist of Kerala.. He has won the young artist award by Kerala Folklore Academy in 2015 and has directed several puppetry shows including Mahabali Charitham.
