District Tourism Promotion Council, Thrissur in association with District governing bodies & Thrissur Corporation conducts grand onam celebrations at Thrissur from 13-17 Sept 2016. Thekkinkad Maidanam (In the centre of Thrissur city, the hillock which seats Vadakkumnathan temple) and Regional theatre (Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Academy,Thrissur) will be the two main venues of celebration. The celebrations will be inaugurated on 13th Sept , 05.00 pm at Thekkinkadu Maidanam, Thrissur. The detailed schedule of the five day celebration is listed below.
The water sport, Vallamkali / Jalolsavam , conducted in Thrissur - Thriprayar, Kandassamkadavu , KaliyekkalTheeram (Eanamavu) & KottappuramMuziris – will be held on 14, 15, 16, 18 September respectively.
Besides these, DTPC will conduct Onam celebration at the tourist destinations Peechi Dam & Garden (10-15 Sept), Thumboormuzhi (10-16 Sept), Vazhani Dam & Garden (13-17 Sept), Snehatheeram Park (13-15 Sept) and Kunnamkulam Jawahar Stadium (15,16 Sept). The celebrations will conclude on 17 Sept.
