Mahabharata Vicharam – the 12-day Cultural Fest begins at Thrissur

‘Mahabharata Vicharam’, the cultural festival organized by Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, Thrissur (Kerala, India) will begin on Sunday, 30 Oct 2016. The ritual folk art Kalamezhuthu, Mudiyattu Kalam by Panayoor Vasudevan & party, was performed at Bharat Murali Open Air Theatre on 29^th Oct (Saturday) as a ceremonial start to the 12-day program.

The event from 30 Oct to 10 Nov 2016 will have painters’ camp, series of lectures and cultural programs. Kerala Lalithakala Academi and Bharat Murali Open Air Theatre at Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Academi, Thrissur, Kerala will be the venue.

Panchavadyam by Tripunithura Sajeevan & Party on 30 Oct, 02.00 pm will be the opening program of the event. Dr. Kalyan Kumar Chakravarthi I A S will inaugurate Mahabharata Vicharam, the 12-day event at 3.30 p.m.

Painters Camp, Series of Lectures & Cultural Programmes will be conducted on all these days. The painters camp will be from 11 a.m to 4 p.m at Kerala Lalithakala Akademi & Bharath Murali Open Air Theatre Premises. The participants of the camp include  K.G. Babu, Bahuleyan C.B., Bara Bhaskaran, Deepthi Vasu, P.G. Dinesh, Gurupat Chithrakar, Jalajamol .P. S., Lathadevi N.B., Madhu V.S., Manoj Brahmamangalam, N. K. P. Muthukoya, Prathapan G., T.P. Premji, Pushpakaran K.K., Radha Gomathi, Ramsingh Urveti, K.P. Reji, K.K.Sanilkumar, D.Sindhu, Smija Vijayan, Sravan Paswan, Sreeja Pallam, J.L. Sreekumari, Thomas Kurisingal, Tom.J. Vattakuzhy, T.R.Udayakumar.

‘Mahabharatha Vicharam’ , a series of talks on Mahabharata will be held on these days at 05.30 pm. Swami Sandeepananda Giri will deliver the talks from Oct 30 – Nov 04  and talk by Dr Sunil P Elayidam will be held from Nov 05- Nov 10. The cultural programs will begin at 08.00 pm on all the days.
