 'Galaxy of Musician', a dance chorography inspired  by the painting of famous Indian artist Raja Ravi Varma is getting more stages after its debut performance. The next performance is to be held on 16th April 2017, 06.00 pm at Durbar Hall Ground, Ernakulam (Kerala).

Inspired by the painting by Raja Ravi in the same name, Sumesh K S conceptualised and directed the production 'Galaxy of Musician' with the help of Rajshri Deshpande, Mumbai (Assistant Director ), Kalamandalam Sujatha  and  Riti Sachdev, New York (Flamenco Dance) . , The dance, music and culture underlined in the painting are depicted in the choreography by eleven dance forms-  Mohiniyattam of Kerala, Odissi of Odisha, Kota Dance of Maharashtra, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Garba etc.  One of the character in the choreography is the painter Raja Ravi Varma itself, accompanied by a Kathakali character that represents the mental agony the painter.

The artists participating are Kalamandalam Mukundhan (Kathakali), Shaiju (Raja Ravi Varma), Kalamandalam Riya (Kerala Lady), Kalamandalam Anju (Tamil Nadu Lady), Kalamandalam Athulya (Utter Pradesh), Erina, Germany (Foreigner), Kalamandalam Ahalya (Maharashtra), Kalamandalam Abhirami (Maharashtra), Kalamandalam Aathira (Odisha), Kalamandalam Sangeetha (Mysore), Kalamandalam Lakshmi (Indo-Persian), Kalamandalam Reshma (Gujarat) and  Kalamandalam Vindhuja (Rajasthan). Music is done by Arun Das & KJ Jomon and lyrics by Murali Sankar. KJ Jomon ,  Ragesh I.G.  Baijan Krishnan and Riti Sachdev are the singers. Lighting is by Murali , Vimesh (Art direction), Kalamandalam Sujatha & Sumesh (Costumes), Vijayan Arangod (Property), Saritha Prajith & Nidhin (Make up), Musthafa, Gokul UdayaKumar and  Kalamandalam Aravind (Assistants)

Raja Ravi Varma (1848–1906), a renowned Indian painter and artist is well known for his unique paintings. He is considered among the greatest painters in the history of Indian art .
