Navarathri Dance and Music Festival at Panachikkad

Navarathri festival at Panachikadu Saraswathi Temple will be celebrated from 21 to 30 September 2017. The temple known as Dakshina Mookambi is situated in Panachikadu village of Kottayam District in Kerala (India). Besides special poojas and rituals, the temple conducts National festival for Dance and Music as part of Navarathri celebrations every year. Hundreds of young and experienced artists participate in this festival. 

After the ceremonial start on the first day morning, music and dance performances are held at the temple premise of Panachikkad Sri Dakshina Mookambi Kshethram throughout day and night on these days as part of the Navarathri festival.

The daily routine of the event - 04.00 am-07.00 am- Bhajans, devotional songs etc.; 07.00 am-03.00 pm- Classical Music- vocal and instrumental;  03.00 pm-05.00 pm- Classical dances; 05.00 pm-07.00 pm- Carnatic Music; 07.00 pm- 09.00 pm- Dance/music by special artists and 09.00 pm-04.00 am-Classical Dance by groups. Some of the highlights of the festival are given. Of this, the programme from 21- 26 September at 07.00 pm  are categorized as National Festival of Dance and Music.
