Chembai Sangeetholsavam 2017 - Music Festival

The 43rd Chembai Sangeetholsavam, the annual music festival organized by Guruvayur Devaswom will be conducted from 15 to 30 Nov 2017. The festival conducted at Guruvayur in connection with the Ekadasi festival of Guruvayur Srikrishna temple is dedicated to the legend of  Carnatic music late Chembai Vaidyanatha Bagavathar.

Chembai Sangeetholsavam 2017 will begin with the inaugural concert by Padmabhushan T N Krishnan (violin) on 15th Nov at Melpathur Auditorium (Chembai Sangeethamandapam), Guruvayur. The highlight of the 16-day music festival is Pancharatna Keerthanalapanam (a set of five Keerthanas (songs) in different Ragas written and formatted by the legendary musician Thyagaraja Bagavathar, is sung as chorus by over 150 artists) held in the morning of the previous day to the concluding date (29 Nov).

  1. The video recording details display are available only in Malayalam local language, which I do not know. I am regularly watching it for many years. Like me, it is being watched through out Inida, if I am not wrong, through out the world. Please also display in English language. Without knowing the artist name, we can not enjoy it fully. I have long back sent mail to DD Malayam. Please treat this as most URGENT. You can incorporate the details atleast in the "Repeat programme by DD Malayalam.
