The annual festival KeralaNatyolsavam organised by Drisyavedi will begin on 13 Nov 2017 at KarthikaThirunal theatre, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The four day festival titled 'Poothenvani' will present Kathakali performances on the Kathakali plays written by Irayimman Thambi, the musician, composer and scholar. More than 60 artists including Padmashri Kalamandalam Gopi will participate in the Kathakali festival.
The festival begins with the dance presentation in Kathakali based on 'Omanathinkal Kidavo’ the lullaby composed by Irayimman Thambi. Kathakali stories Keechakavadham (13 Nov), Utharaswayamvaram Poorvvabhagam (14 Nov), Utharaswayamvaram Utharabhagam (15 Nov) and Dakshayagam (16 Nov) will be presented on these days.
