Lasyotsavam 2018, National Festival of Indian Classical Dances at Thrissur


The 7th edition of Lasyotsavam, a National Festival of Classical Dances organised by Lasya Akademi of Mohiniyattam will be conducted at Thrissur, Kerala from 16th to 18th February 2018. The festival held at Regional Theatre (K T Mohammed Memorial Theatre) of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, Thrissur will be inaugurated by versatile dancer-choreographer in Mohiniyattam, Guru Kalamandalam Sugandhi on 16th February. The three-day festival will showcase Indian Classical Dances, Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Kathak. A workshop by Guru Kalamandalam Sugandhi will be conducted along with the festival on these days (09.00 am - 01.00 pm).  Pallavi Krishnan, eminent Mohiniyattam dancer and founder of Lasya Akademi of Mohiniyattam is the artistic director of the festival.

07.30 pm - 08.30 pm - Odissi by Madhulitha Mohapatra & group (Bangalore)

17 Feb (Saturday):
06.30 pm - 07.30 pm - Bharatanatyam by Shyamjith Kiran & Viraja Mandhre (Chennai)
07.30 pm - 08.30 pm - Kathak by Parwathy Dutta (Aurangabad)

18 Feb (Sunday):
06.00 pm - 07.30 pm - Distribution of certificates to the workshop participants and
Panchabhutha (The Five Cosmic Elements), a Mohiniyattam presentation by the students of Lasya Akademi. Choreography - Pallavi Krishnan
07.30 pm - 08.30 pm - Kuchipudi by T Reddi Lakshmi (Delhi)
