Malabar River Festival 2019 to begin from 26 July at Thusharagiri

The 7th edition of Malabar River Festival (MRF), the water sports organized by Kerala Tourism will commence from 26 July 2019. The two day adventure competition will be held at Iruvanjhipuzha & Chalipuzha Rivers at Thusharagiri in Kozhikode district.

This year the South India’s only extreme adventure competition MRF, will have the participation of Kayakers from more than 15 countries. The competition is conducted in three categories Extreme Race, Boater Cross and Giant Slalom.  It will also feature events for amateurs and professionals with a special category of prizes for the under 21 athletes. The registration fee for professional athletes` is INR 3,500 and amateurs is INR 2,000.  Winners from various categories will receive cash prize worth 1 million Indian Rupees.


Asia's biggest white - water festival, Malabar River Festival, is conducted in association with Madras Fun Tools,DTPC - Kozhikode, IKCA (Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association) and ICF (International Canoe Federation). The international race will bring together some of the best white water athletes to Thusharagiri. The festival will conclude on 28th July.
