#Theyyam, #FolkRitual, #WelcomeKeralaMagazine Theyyam is a ritualistic performing art performed to propitiate the ethnic Gods and Goddesses of North Malabar (Kannur and Kasaragod Districts). The Goddess Vadakkathi Bhagavathi aka Padakkathi Bhagavathi is believed to be evolved from Lord Shiva with Ardhanareeswara concept. Following the folklore, this Goddess in the Theyyam form appear with long beard and mustache, intricate face painting, elaborate costumes and long headgear. This performance was held during the annual Theyyam festival at Vengara Tharavadu temple, Nirveli, near Kuthuparamba in Kannur. district,Kerala. Date 28-30 Dec 2018
