Seepothi Theyyams of Nittoor_ശീപോതി തെയ്യം

Nittoor, a remote village in Kozhikode district is a known place where the ritual Seepothi Theyyam is performed during the month Karkkidakam (Malayalam calendar). The performers are from the 'Vellolippil' family of Malayan community residing at Vellolippu, near Kuttiadi. Seepothi Theyyam visits the local households along with a percussionist of Chenda instrument.

 Unlike other Theyyam characters, Seepothi is generally performed by children, irrespective of gender, as it doesn't have much complicated rituals and performances.

The performers in the village are Athul Krishna and Kanaran Panikkar, Ardra Ajeesh (Seepothi Theyyam), Kelappan Panikkar , Shijin, Lalu and Rajesh .(Footage of 2016)
