The annual workshop conducted by Theatreconnekt on the age old Sanskrit theatre tradition – Kutiyattam will be held from 05 to 14 August 2016, at The Retreat, Kiralur, Thrissur (Kerala, India).
The workshop is formulated to introduce the methodology, principles and systems of acting and theatre-making as practiced in Kutiyattam. The 10 day long intensive is specifically designed for contemporary theatre artistes, dancers and performing artistes from other disciplines.
Placed in traditional Gurukulam environment, the workshop is designed and formulated and directed by Shri. Sooraj Nambiar, the versatile Kutiyattam performer and senior disciple of late Padmabhushan Ammannur Madhava Chakyar.
