Dharani, Kochi and Natyadhara, Munich,
jointly organising the Bharatanatyam performance by Amra Ebert & Nina
Mog on Tuesday, 08th August 2017. The
event will be held at Dharani's Sathi Kamala Hall, SRM Road, Cochin, Kerala from 06.30 pm.
The Artists - Amra Ebert & Nina Mog
Amra Marie Ebert from Munich, Germany who
is currently living in Bangalore, Karnataka (India) started learning
Bharathanatyam at the young age of six under the tutelage of Dr. Rekha Raju. She was
also learning Carnatic music from Mrs. Sumathi Ramachandran. She moved back to Munich after few years and
continued her dance education with Chandra Devi at her dance school ‘Natyadhara’.
Amra has performed for different events including
the Street life festival in Munich.
Nina Mog from Munich, Germany was fascinated
by the graceful movements of Bharatanatyam in her younger age. She joined ‘Natyadhara’,
Chandra Devi´s School for Indian Dance in Munich from where she practised her
skills and developed the understanding of Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music. She visited ‘Dharani’ at Kochi, Kerala in 2013
and 2017, where she could pursue her passion under the guidance of Smt.
Shyamala Surendran. Nina has been
performing at various shows in Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
Dharani and Natyadhara
Smt. Shyamala Surendran is the founder and managing
trustee of ‘Dharani School of Performing
Arts’ in Kochi. She is trained under prominent Gurus - dancing couple Dhananjayans
of Chennai, Padmabhushan Kalanidhi
Narayanan and Kalamandalam Kalyannikutti amma. Shyamala has been performing and
giving seminars and workshops all over India & outside. She has composed
and produced several intricate dance dramas. In 2006 she received the “Kerala
Sangeet Nataka Academy award” for her contributions to the performing arts in
Kerala.
‘Natyadhara - Zentrum für Indischen Tanz
und Kultur’ in Munich was founded by Chandra Devi (Simone Brero) who received her training in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic
music at “Dharani School of Performing Arts” under the guru, Smt. Shyamala
Surendran in Kochi. She refined the art further under Padmabhushan Kalanidhi Narayanan. Chandra has
been performing and teaching regularly in Germany and other places all over Europe
and India. She has organized the dance
producti ons ‘Natyananda 1 and 2’ and ‘The Cosmic Dance of Shiva’.
