Rangarajeevam is an event to celebrate and honour the
forty years of professional life of Peesappilli Rajeevan, a noted Kathakali
artiste from Kunnamkulam in Thrissur district, Kerala. Peesappilli Rajeevan is
a versatile actor in Kathakali, who can effectively manage variety of
characters in Kathakali, including female characters. Apart from Kathakali he has also established
his identity in Drama and also acted in some films. He has produced and
choreographed some theatrical productions based on poems. He has also conducted more
than 500 lecture-demonstrations in various schools and colleges to popularize
Kathakali, the classical dance-drama of Kerala.
The three day cultural fest include lectures, dance
choreography, music concerts and Kathakali performances. The event is organized
by the art fraternity of Kathakali and the natives of Kunnamkulam to express
love and affection towards the great artiste Peesappilli Rajeevan.
